Another tip, is to re-pot your tree every few years. The most ideal time for re-potting is during spring, because the weather will be relatively neutral (not too hot, not too cold) and it is more likely that the plant will grow faster in the new soil.
This is also a good time to prune the roots, but be careful not to cut too much, only about one-third from the tip of the root should be sufficient. If you want your plant to grow in the same form or at the same rate, you should re-pot in a pot with the same size and shape.
Keep the site clean and free of pests. Clean the leaves and stem with a small brush once a week to get rid of plant debris and pests, but also remove the debris from the ground after you’ve brushed the leaves, to prevent them decomposing in the soil and causing moss or fungal growth.
