I used a property surveyor to confirm my boundaries before I arranged for the installation of backyard fences on my property.
There are many reasons for backyard fences surrounding your property. You want privacy and security. Your home is your castle. You do not want every Tom, Nick, Harry and their dog walking all over your property.
I recently had a problem of my dog disappearing into the neighbourhood. There no fence. After advice from my vet, I have decided to install an underground pet fence and my pet has never disappeared again.
The underground pet fence is not a hideous ten metre high above ground fence. You set a boundary within the yard with wires underground and this is the underground fence. Your pet wears a collar. If your pet is close to the boundary, it will hear beeps, if it step on the boundary it will either get a mild electric shock or a spray of Citronella, depending on your settings.
Both of these methods are considered humane and will not harm your pet. For confirmation if an underground pet fence is the best solution for your pet, contact your local vet.
Now, I can keep my pet dog on my side of the backyard fences.
