Flower beds give blooming colour all around the house

Flower beds add a sense of tranquility and beauty around the house. The sudden appearance of different colours when flowers are in bloom adds to the decoration of our our home.

Several years ago we moved into our present home. We were lucky enough to find a lake home that we could afford. When we drove into the yard with the realtor I knew that I was home.

Everything about the yard of our home invites people to come and linger. The house is over a hundred years old and sits at the top of a small hill.

The hill slopes down to the lake shore. On the north side of the house are huge old maple trees, on the south side of the house is a gazebo that over looks the lake and additional maple trees.

Everything is so quiet and peaceful. No loud city traffic noises here.

The front of the house as well as the backyard area has huge flower beds, filled with perennials. There is a winding walkway from the house to the garage. On either side of the path are additional flower beds.

Above Ground Storage Tank to Store all your Rain Water

Above ground storage tank is needed to hold your reserves of water to meet household requirements and to feed any animals and plants you may have on your property.

The easy maintenance of above ground storage tank is another advantage. You can look at the tank and see if there is any rust or leakage or any damage to the structure.

If the tank is below ground, you may have dig up the tank to look for structural damage and then the amount of work required and associated costs can be prohibitive.

This is part of rural living. You can breathe the mountain air and watch the fish swim in crystal clear waters. You need to store water to meet your family requirements.

The story is different if you live in the city. All you need to do is turn on the tap and the water flows. It’s not quite as simple if you live in a rural area.

Depending on where you live and how far from a water source you are, you may have to consider an above ground storage tank to hold your water.

Cactus Gardening - Perfect for a low maintenace garden

Cactus gardening is popular, the plants require very little care and attention, as they normally thrive in arid environments.

Having a few cacti growing in pots or in your garden add variety to the scenery around the house. They seem to grow well throughout the year and have these little flowers that brightens your day when you see them.

The cacti grow, bloom, and hibernate – at least to some degree. Although the cacti never whither for the season and drop their spikes, they do have slow periods where they are resting, like other perennial flowering plants.

White flowers to add colour to the home and garden

White flowers around the home and garden give a lovely contrast to the rest of the flowers. When white flowers are placed in a pot they can disappear into the background of white walls.

This is why one should either change the colour of the walls, or get different colour flowers to add contrast and make the flowers more visible.

We all have our own taste regarding what we want to surround ourselves with. My husband and I have mixed traditional furniture along with a few antiques.

We decided to incorporate antiques into our home because it is over a hundred years old. We have used soft colors on the walls in the various rooms of our home.

Green Lawn - every home should never be without

Green lawn says a lot about the occupants of the house.

If the grass is always short and the lawn is well maintained, it says the occupants love their property and their house is probably in good shape too.

If the grass is long, looks disheveled and junk everywhere, then obviously, the house is a mess too.

So long as there are no structural problems with the house, by keeping a well manicured green lawn, your property should keep its value.

There is nothing like a green lawn. Though you may have one naturally, you may find that some years you have to work to keep it as green as you would like it to be.
