Flower and Garden - to produce your own fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables

Flower and garden can be a special area around the home, to grow your own fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables and meet all your family requirements.

You need some flowers for Mothers Day? Give your mum a couple of pots of flowers and she will find it more rewarding and therapeutic, than buying cut flowers from the florist. Your flowers could last in their pots for years, while cut flowers that may last a day or two.

Its a no contest, when you compare what you can produce in your own flower and garden and what you buy at the florist or fruit market.

Besides, everything that is in your flower and garden area, is your reward for all the work you do slaving away at your garden.

African Violets are easy to maintain and grow indoors

African violets are a popular flower as they are easy to maintain and can be grown indoors, but make sure you give the plants enough light and warmth.

A lot of people use a grow light to make sure the plant receives enough light and warmth to grow from a seed to a plant with beautiful flowers.

African violets are sometimes given to the elderly to keep them occupied as the plants are low maintenance and do not put much of a strain on their garden duties.

As people age it is important that they are able to continue doing things that they enjoy. This is often difficult if they are restricted in their mobility, or if their abilities change due to illnesses.

The elderly often have struggles with depression because of the number of losses they suffer. Having some type of hobby that they enjoy can help them deal with the depression.

Pepper plant in your own vegetable garden

Pepper plant is a good addition to your fruit and vegetable garden. You can grow a variety of peppers including green bell and Jalapeno peppers.

You can then include the peppers in your salads and make pickles in jars and eat them all year round. If you have too many jars, you can give them as gifts to your friends and family. Just like we do. We like to eat the produce we grow in our own vegetable garden.

My wife and I have a large vegetable garden. We grow a wide assortment of vegetables as well as tomatoes.

We would have plenty of vegetables to eat fresh and also we would freeze green beans, corn and peas. I would can tomatoes, dill pickles and a variety of jelly and jam.

One year my sister-in-law gave me a salsa recipe that was suppose to be very good. That year I planted celery, green bell peppers and one jalapeno pepper plant so that I would get all the ingredients from the garden.
