Decorate Your Landscape With Animal Statues

Animal statues can be placed around the yard to decorate a garden, as a centerpiece in the yard and even used like a scarecrow to scare away birds from eating the fruit in your garden.

Most people like animal statues to be placed in the yard, to remind them of a long lost pet. The statue can be constructed from photos, to create the likeness of the pet as a statue. It can sometimes be an emotional moment, when the owner first views the new animal statue.

You can buy off the shelf animal statues from garden stores, nurseries and where statues are sold. You can also buy statues online. You can order to buy a generic statue, a statue that is already made or order a custom made statue. The custom built statue may be much more expensive than the one you buy off the shelf.

If you want the statue to look like your long lost pet, then it may be worth the extra cost of a custom made statue. A lot of these statues can last for years and years.

My fascination with animal statues started when I was a child.

Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder To Keep Birds In Your Yard

Squirrel proof bird feeder may be placed in your yard, to prevent squirrels hoarding all the birdseed, allowing birds in your area to feed on the birdseed. You may like to see birds come into your yard and fly towards the bird feeders and splash about in the bird bath.

You can place bird feeders in different parts of the yard, but if you have large trees and you know you have squirrels in those trees, then you can place one or two squirrel feeders nearby and the squirrels will ignore the bird feeders.

You can have a variety of feeders around your backyard and even a bird bath or two, to add variety to the scenery and make the yard as inviting and hospitable to birds. You can even place window bird feeders next to your window and watch the birds fly to feed towards your window.

The variety of birds coming to feed from your feeders and bathe in the bird bath, will make a fascinating view for birdwatchers in your family.

Growing Vegetables For A Rewarding Harvest

Growing vegetables is probably the most rewarding activity in the garden. By sowing a few seeds or planting your favourite seedlings, you can be rewarded for your efforts within a few weeks or months. Growing vegetables for your own use is fun and healthy and there is a reward of a delicious harvest.

With your own organic vegetable garden you can finally take back control over what is going into your body and have fun doing it. Growing vegetables without chemical pesticides, herbicides and weedicides provides healthy benefits for the body and the mind.

Organic fertilizers are derived from once-living material. They’re excellent for improving soil, but their nutrient levels can be very variable.

Tomatoes, peppers, beans and other growing vegetables need plenty of sunshine. If your yard is short on sun then you may consider growing lights. Tomatoes are one of the most rewarding of greenhouse crops and grow well under growing lights.

Designing A Container Garden For Better Home Improvement

Designing a container garden requires proper planning just like any other kind of gardening. Container gardening is an easy way to keep plants close by, where you can enjoy them, and a large, dramatic planter can be a focal point for a porch or patio.

Container gardens require more frequent watering than your average on the ground garden, due to the exposed sides of the containers resulting in more evaporation. Plastic containers do not dry out as quickly as ceramic, especially unglazed ceramic pots.

Container gardening can be a very rewarding experience as it is possible to grow beautiful plants and vegetables all year round without too much maintenance. There are many different plants and vegetables that can be trellised to minimize the risk of pest invasion.

When planting seeds, use a 6-inch pot. The plants should be about 1 inch apart over the entire surface area. Bring a list of plants you like and those you don't like to the nursery and get advice on what is best for container gardening. Planter boxes, hanging baskets, wooden barrels, and large flowerpots are just some of the containers that can be used.

As you can see there is a large range of ideas for designing a container garden.
