House And Garden For A Perfect Match

House and garden always go together. Improvements to the house, may include improvements to the garden in the backyard. You may have updated the house with a beautiful patio, but you may update the garden with a wrought iron fence and a wrought iron gate, to keep pets out of your garden.

You may consider increasing the variety of growing plants in your garden. Plants too have very definite characteristics and the selection of them will certainly influence the overall look of the garden. But the choice of materials must come first when establishing the layout and basic style. Plant like you arrange flowers. Uneven numbers, flow, repeat, with heavier globs of color at the bottom.

Think big for impact and think different, like vegetables for color and textural interest. Plants, I discovered, could be great teachers! This experience opened up new worlds and I became quietly interested not only in growing lots of different plants but also in finding out more about their medicinal and healing properties.

Collect Organic Waste To Make Compost

There is certainly a lot of discussion in this day and age about the topic of "organics" and the meaning of the term organic waste. Any kind of waste products that originated in some kind of biological form can be considered organic.

Examples of some types of organic matter that results in organic types of waste products are: paper, including newsprint and cardboard; green waste elements, which include garden and yard waste; food remnants and waste; animal feces; and sludges and biosolids.

In many ways, organic waste is a valuable part of the process of life on this planet. In essence, composting of organic materials is the original, and most effective form of recycling, invented and perfected by Mother Nature herself.

A compost heap can continue to grow by adding additional organic waste at any time. The compost pile simply needs to be turned at regular intervals of about every other week and the decomposition process will continue. In four to six months the composting process will have done its work and the compost can be mixed in with the soil as a very effective fertilizer.

Celebrate With A Rock Climbing Wall Birthday Party

Birthday party ideas can begin to run out as children get older. No longer do they want the "childish" stuff, such as clowns or hats with frilly edges. They want excitement and something to brag about at school. Why not give them something new and at the same time, introduce them to a great sport? The next time you are planning a birthday party for an older child or teenager, consider having a rock climbing wall party.

As the children get older, they are going to want a rock climbing wall that is more challenging than the one found in kid arenas. A great party idea is to take them to an indoor climbing gym where they can try out different grades of climbs. The establishment often offers parties and classes that focus on teaching the teens the necessary skills that can help them ascend in a safe manner. Do not worry, there are protective harnesses.

Birthday parties and family outings do not have to be the same old thing each time. Try taking the kids or your friends to a rock climbing wall. You will have a great time and learn a new skill. You may even find yourself wanting to learn more and start venturing outdoors for a rock climb through nature. At the very least, it is great physical exercise and a chance at trying something new.
