Better Watering Tips For Container Gardens

There are three factors for better watering tips, to keep your plants properly watered. The first factor is knowing the type of plants growing in your containers. For some plants require dry soil surrounding each plant before being watered again, while other growing plants need constantly moist soil.

It is important to study the needs for healthy growing plants, before planting them. This way, you will avoid placing plants with different requirements for optimal soil conditions in the same pot.

The second factor is to know the different types of pots and how they hold water, before you make a purchasing decision. For example, unglazed clay pots are porous and the water evaporates out from the sides and from the top of the soil.

As a result, clay pots dry out much faster than for example, metal containers. Even with pots, but you can mange some of the evaporation, by placing several plants in the one container, some of which will create shade over others, helping some plants stay cool and reduce the rate of evaporation.
