Knowing The Time For Bee Removal

One of the reasons why many people don't like honey bees, bumble bees, wasps etc., and why they contact bee removal services, is because these insects can sting. Otherwise they are just pretty little bugs going about their business. When a bee stings, it releases pheromones.

Typically, a honey bee that is away from the hive foraging will rarely sting. The only exceptions would be if it is roughly handled. Although it is generally believed that a honey bee can only sting once, this is a misconception. It all depends on what the bee stings as to whether it can live to sting again.

The main reason why people dislike bees is because of their ability to sting. The stinger injects a toxin into the victim, followed by the release of alarm pheromones. This process if accelerated if the bee has been fatally injured.

The release of alarm pheromones around a hive or swarm will attract other bees to the location and they will likewise show defensive behaviors until there is no longer a threat. This is typically because the victim has either flown away or been killed.

These types of pheromones do not dissipate or wash away quickly. It is obviously a wise choice to call a bee removal service if you are plagued with wild bees in or around your home.

Sometimes people will attempt bee removal on their own, without any professional help. They may choose to use chemical sprays to kill the bees or smokers to calm the bees, thus making the removal of the insects and their hive easier. You can typically find sprays and smokers in hardware stores and home-improvement centers.

If you plan on doing the removal yourself, then it's best to use whichever method at night, when all the bees are most likely to be inside the hive.
