Ideal Pet Parrot For Your Apartment

If you live in an apartment and would really like a talking bird for a pet, then that puts you mostly in the market for a parrot, though there are a few other birds that can be trained to mimic human speech.

Keep in mind, though, that a pet parrot can get rather loud, which could become a problem in an apartment setting. However, this doesn't mean that you need to abandon the thought of a parrot altogether. There are some smaller, quieter ones that might just suit your situation.

When it comes to noise, getting the smaller type of pet parrot known as a conure may fly just on the borderline between too loud and quiet enough. Their more high-pitched voices may fall into the range of budgies, meaning that the sound wouldn't carry quite as much as with larger parrots.

These more exotic pet birds are very beautiful with their long colored tails, and they very much enjoy playing their human owners. They love learning tricks and are very affectionate.

If you do choose a smaller breed of pet parrot, you must remember that one way of keeping it relatively quiet and under control will be to socialize and interact with it on a daily basis.

Engaging in regular bird training will be part of what you need to do if you want to keep a parrot in your apartment. If you can give the time and attention needed in order for the bird to be happy and not make too much noise, then a smaller parrot may be the ideal pet for you.
