Mountain Biking Across The Land

If you have ever ridden a bike on grass or on a dirt road, as opposed to pavement, then you have been mountain biking. It is actually a diversified sport that has come a long way since its official recognition, though people have been mountain biking for as long as there have been bicycles.

There are some common misconceptions regarding riding a mountain bike. It does not have to be in extreme desert tracks or a long winding mountain, though those are two excellent terrains, to qualify as off-road biking.

Unlike mountain biking itself, dirt jump attracts a much younger crowd or those who are into the "extreme" sports scene. The influence of BMX racing is evident by the ramps and slopes in which the rider pushes their bike to achieve great heights. Once the rider has themselves and the bike in the air, it is about skill and determination when it comes to landing it clean.

Although there has been continued debate of what the effects of mountain biking may be to the environment, there is no doubt that it is far healthier for our ecosystem and for our bodies to use a bike as opposed to a car.

Riding a mountain bike is a great way to bring the family together and to enjoy a little bit of exercise. With the five styles to choose from, there is something for everyone.
